Soul music is said to be the preserve of the Negro, yet the later soul music of the Negro was not the preserve of the Negro, for it very often relied on Jewish production under the likes of Syd Nathan, Ralph Bass, Jerry Wexler, Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, and on White classical tradition and instrumentation for its orchestral arrangements. All music can be said to be interconnected, but there is a reason the MOBOs are called the MOBOs, and soul music was created for a Black American market. The American Blue-Eyed Soul crossover genre very much links into this, but the White British soul tradition is quite different and distinct in the same way as that deemed to be Black American.

ANNE MARIE WATERS AND CONTROLLED OPPOSITION
Anne Maries Waters has appeared from nowhere to become the latest darling of those who do not wish to see the Islamification of Great Britain. I am always suspicious whenever the latest 'saviour' shows up - and I am right to be. Waters is currently founding her own party, 'For Britain', after losing the UKIP leadership contest, and spoke at the Traditional Britain Group meeting yesterday. She was very careful in her speech to concentrate on what she was against, but was very guarded about what she was for. There are very good reasons for that, for her vision for Britain is anything but traditional.

GENDER PRONOUNS AND PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE HOBBYISM
The latest cult to emerge from the nihilistic Left is that of 'gender pronouns', which also seem to change every so often. Ten years ago, it was not even on the radar; then suddenly, every American university campus was flooded with things like 'ze' and 'xe' and 'per' and 'thon' and various others. Now, the latest pronoun fashion seems to be to use 'they' and 'them' for usually obese middle-class Leftists who wish to reject Natural Order and the way they were born, as though changing language somehow changes the reality of who they are.

FRAMING THE DISCOURSE: PIERS MORGAN VS MUNROE BERGDORF
Piers Morgan is someone I despise. He could be considered a Tony Blair of the media: someone who constantly fakes emotion and can argue passionately for one proposition and a few days later argue equally passionately for the counter-proposition. He is symptomatic of the British bourgeoisie: mealy-mouthed and insincere, his only morality being his bank balance and his deference to whatever elite is in power. Yet he is even more dishonest than this obvious observation suggests. Furthermore, Morgan is typical of the groupthink inherent in today's media, where all discourse is framed to manipulate public opinion.

FROMAGE TO CATALONIA
The situation in Catalonia is a difficult one for me to reconcile: on the one hand, I believe the different peoples within Europe have the right to govern themselves and that political borders should be redrawn to reflect the historical boundaries of peoples (obviously, there would have to be a certain amount of compromise); on the other, the independence movement has been orchestrated by Communist groups in an area of Spain dominated by the Extreme Left. After all, this is the Mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau, who delights in urinating on her own streets:

SPORT AND PRIVILEGE
The boxer Andre Ward has just retired undefeated, having spent time as super middleweight then light heavyweight champion of the world. He won the Super Six Series that saw him take on and beat the best super middleweights of his era, like Carl Froch, Mikkel Kessler and Chad Dawson. However, there have always been questions regarding his dirty tactics and it is indisputable that he beat several opponents through the continued use of illegal blows that went unchallenged by the referee, particularly in the defeats of Mikkel Kessler (head-butting), Sergey Kovalev (low blows) and Sakio Bika (head-butting, wrestling and elbowing). Why then was he allowed to get away with so much for so long and why are some sportsmen allowed to cheat and others not?

THE PIKEY QUESTION
In my article on the campsite as Pioneer Little Europe, I mentioned in some way emulating the lifestyle of Irish gypsies. These Pikeys also cropped up in Hilaire Belloc's article 'On Inns' in a rather romantic light and I do not wish the readers of this blog to think I have any time for these ne'er-do-wells. I do, however, believe there are lessons to be learned from their lifestyle, both for good and ill, and these are what I wish to explore here.
