MJOLNIR AT THE MOVIES EPISODE 13: BRAVEHEART

Another episode of Mjolnir at the Movies is up, in which we take on Mel, the Son of the Gibs' epic piece of anti-English propaganda Braveheart. We discuss the problems of petty nationalism and how this is often used to keep people infighting and away from racial nationalism, and how propagandist pseudo-history taps into this. We also look at whether Glibson is #OurGuy, given certain drunken ramblings about a certain tribe who control Jollywood.

  1. Great discussion. I was particularly interested in the digression about Christianity. Not only was Christ Jewish, that group was the focus of his ministry. He discouraged his apostles from dealing with Gentiles, and he compared us to dogs. His sole interactions with Gentiles, reluctantly casting out the demons from the Syro-Phoenician woman after first rebuffing her, and his interaction with the Roman centurion who had the sick servant, have been adjudged to be later Christian additions to the scriptures. "Braveheart" had good action sequences and humor, but of course the history was nonsense. You're right, Patrick McGoohan stole the movie.

  3. As vital as a racial awakening would be in our current age it's quite obvious that there will always be regional disputes and the like, even without the hand of a certain group. Our ancient ancestors were well known to fight amongst themselves, and they probably saw it as simply a natural part of life as well as a chance to test themselves in the field of battle.
