I am very concerned for the Youtube vlogger Millennial Woes' mental health. It is true that I do not approve of some of his antics, like his support of fourth generation Holocaust™-surviving mystery meat Tara MacCarthy, or his support for MGTOW misogynists who hate white women, like Davis 'I have eight inches' Aurini or Matt 'I'm an Alpha male' Forney (seriously, they've said this on live streams), or getting involved in petty internet squabbles between people who think they are celebrities. But Woes has done some good stuff in between the nonsense, like the videos on the First World War, on the arts and some of them on social analysis. The problem is, however, that he has been on the internet for far too long and far too often to the point where it has become a replacement for real life to the point where his Twitter ban has become like a nuclear holocaust to him and he has started rambling that this might be a sign that there are government agents hidden in bushes trying to kill him:
There are of course reasons for this: Woes started his vlog as a man suffering from depression, isolated from the world. This struck a chord with many Millennial males, who are faced with a world from which they have been deliberately alienated. They latched onto him as their hero, as an articulate, intelligent guy who spoke for them. As his popularity grew, he also came to the notice of other vloggers in and around what has become known as the Alt Right, who promoted his channel, which boosted his subscriber count. Indeed, Woes became quite obsessed with his subscriber count, marking every significant milestone with a video with snazzy graphics, as the subscribers validated him and gave him a sense of self-worth. Suddenly, Woes was propelled into internet stardom of a sort and the roster of global Alt Right conferences beckoned. His confidence soared and he realised that some subscibers had become fans and come to idolise him. This is not a good state of affairs for someone with depression, and Woes developed a semi-messianic complex. This image he produced says it all:
Make no mistake, Woes has always had depression. The stardom and adulation was a quick fix, but not a long-term solution. How could it be? Woes has always lived in a bubble and has never ventured out in the real world. He has never had to, for the Alt Right celebrity circuit taught him how to live off donations through Paypal and Patreon and Hatreon and the rest. The doxxing was very cruel and unfortunate, but it gave him the perfect excuse to leave the real world entirely and live off the charity of others. This relieved him of the necessity of getting a real job and existing in real space and, for the most part, interacting with ordinary people in face-to-face conversations. The internet is no substitute for reality. It is a virtual space where people are able to invent personas and be free from all inhibitions, should they want to. Far more than in real life, they can troll you, pretend to be your best friend and manipulate you into saying things you may not agree with, especially if they are donating shekels. Whatever the case may be, and many were genuine, their sycophancy, in part, set up Woes' fall, for he has never had to confront his own demons, instead imparting advice to others, in part as a genuinely decent man, but in part in avoidance of his own problems.
The breakdown came with his Twitter ban. It ought to have been seen as an inconvenience. We have all faced attacks from Left field, been banned by internet platforms and so on. The correct response is annoyance, dusting oneself down and starting again. Instead, Woes has been in a state of emotional crisis for several months now. Video after video has been about his Twitter ban; he launched a #FreeWoes campaign in which his acolytes attempted to get his account reinstated; and now he has dedicated his speech at the Erkenbrand conference again to losing his Twitter account. In the speech, he likened losing his Twitter account to the bombing of Hiroshima, which he then tried to pass off as a joke in the comments section (see below), while simultaneously being aggressively defensive. The commenter Bevel E (our own James from Mjolnir at the Movies, who is also a regularish viewer) was quite right when he likened it to a drug addict's reaction. This is not a normal reaction to losing a Twitter account, but Twitter is the means through which he communicates with the fans he needs as an emotional crutch. James has produced a rather amusing video (top) just to show how much Woes has lost the plot. I hope it makes Woes realise just how out of touch with reality he has become.
What I would like to encourage people to do, is urge Woes to seek help. Also urge him into regular work and a stable lifestyle. There are reasons why the Left are continually trying to undermine our structures and this just shows why. The Left has always wanted to mentally destabilise Western Man in line with the tenets of Deconstruction Theory. The work we do in Rightist movements must always be alongside our regular jobs, so that we remain balanced and grounded in the real world. I am aware that many other vloggers and bloggers are also asking for donations so that they 'have more time to create more content'. It is also and perhaps really because they wish to leave their mundane jobs without realising that those same mundane jobs give their lives structure and routine, which is necessary for a healthy lifestyle and psyche. It is a building block from which one starts to build other blocks in life, like getting a home and starting a family. I may not like getting up on a morning and going to work, but I appreciate its necessity. Comfort in any case is the root of decline. Equally, living in the real world gives us a sense of who we really are. Among ordinary people, very very few have heard of Millennial Woes or any other internet personalities of the Alt Right, which just shows where the work needs to be done.
Thanks for clarifying. The fact he used it is telling though and it rather says a lot about the relationship between him and many of his fans. James (Bevel E) made the analogy over Skype that the relationship was like the bizarre American subculture of obese women and 'feeders', in other words his fans encourage his unhealthy lifestyle through flattery and worship and feed his feelings of self-worth in an unnatural way. Let's put it this way: how would he react if his fans abandoned him? I think we know the best and worst answers to that. At best, he would become severely depressed and dysfunctional. Whether he's peaked or not is rather beside the point. He needs help and is on the verge of becoming seriously delusional.
I don't think he's ever held a job. That said, what job could he get? Only something manual, and he's too smart for that, it wouldn't be kind (though, I know other college graduates who have to do skilled trades from being doxxed). I guess, if people are willing to pay, that's between them and him. But we're not rich, we can't support every doxxed individual, forever, as a neet.
I'm sure Twitter has rued the day they dared cross him now. Surely time to come back to Earth after these misjudgements and embarrassments?
